Like any self-respecting adult, Christmas and the festive period does not get acknowledged by me until December. The only exception being where, as is the case this year, the 1st December lands on a Monday (or Tuesday... and possibly a Wednesday). My rationale being that waiting until the following weekend would mean the Christmas tree would only be up for a 3 weeks and that payoff isn't worth the effort in rummaging around in the loft.

So the Christmas tree is up and, while I'm not big on Christmas, the soft lights on the tree do bring a nice ambience to the living room.

My plan for my time off over Christmas is to play (and try to beat) Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. I still have the Remake to get through though.

Started a trial of ChatGPT Plus this weekend. I have reservations and scepticism about generative AI but it's helpful (so far) as an alternative to Googling problems. Case in point, I was able to bounce ideas off ChatGPT re. expanding some of my home servers.

Made a bit more progress on fixing some of the metadata in my music collection. I inadvertently screwed a bunch of it up when I bought a new server and moved my music across. I still have another 1367 albums to work through…
