I wrapped up reading the first of Obama's memoirs this week. I probably sit slightly further to the left of Obama. But I have the privilege of being able to say that without needing to balance the interests of national and global politics. My views operate in a vacuum. Obama, like most other presidents and prime ministers, does not have that luxury. So while I can acknowledge, and in principle agree with, some of the criticism directed Obama's way; there were a lot of headwinds during his administration which needed to be navigated.
